Version 2.81a, released 27-May-2010

1. General: 'LINPAC-link' modules added to enable exporting data to LINPAC in their standard file format. Thanks to Ady Harris @ Vitacress and Pat Griffen & Pete Clarke @ Gryphon Clarke Solutions for their assistance.

2. Movements form: Date & Time Received fields added. Enables 'in transit' quantity to be displayed separately on Reconciliation reports. Also enables effective dates to be calculated from Date Received, which is the system used by major Australian retailers. Date Received may be keyed manually, automatically set to 'today' for 'on' movements with an option in the Customise form, or set based on Transit Days specified for the selected 3rd Party. In a master-slave system, Date Received is updated for exact matching records when importing a slave movements file - this allows transport company masters to have accurate Date Received for linehaul movements between locations (these movements are submitted by both locations but only the receiver will have Date Received). Thanks to John Turner, Vivienne Sulejmani & Katrina Hutchinson @ NQX for this suggestion.

3. Profiles & TP Accounts forms: Transit Days field added for automatically setting the Date Received of keyed movements. "Set number of days from the date received" delay type also added. "List of Effective Dates" delay types are no longer available.

4. Movements, Imported Movements & Import Data forms: Second Source field added to provide better history and audit trail of movement records. When importing a supplier, 3rd party or slave movements file, exact matching existing movements have the Second Source set to the import file name. "Unconfirmed Internal Movements" add to the 2nd Filter options in the Movements form. Selecting this displays location-to-location movements that do not have a Second Source. Thanks to John Turner, Vivienne Sulejmani & Katrina Hutchinson @ NQX for this suggestion.

5. Imported Movements form: Reverse Match field replaced with a similar field 'Tag'. It is still used to identify imported movements with matching existing movements, but is now updated using the Tag All button on the Imported Movements form. This is more flexible than the previous system of updating Reverse Match only when movements are imported and keyed. 'Tag All' is based on the currently ticked filter boxes. Filters are also improved to enable filtering on a date range, and cross-filtering the Reference and Con Note fields (imported movement Reference to existing movement Con Note, and vice versa). Thanks to Sharleen Poulsen @ AF Logisitcs and Ted Robl @ Scotts Refrigerated for these suggestions.

6. Movements form: Scanning (or keying) a docket number into the Scan field now searches for other movements with the same docket number. If one is found it jumps to that record, and a warning is provided if several matching docket numbers are found. If there are no matches the scanned data is shifted into the Docket Number field to begin entering a new record, the same as if it was scanned in there directly. This provides some of the functionality of two-dimensional barcode scans for scanning one-dimensional docket barcodes, and works with any docket that has a docket number barcode. Thanks to Carolyn McPherson @ Harris Refrigerated for this suggestion.

7. Docket reports & Movements form: Multi-line dockets now display the effective date for each line, allowing it to be different for each line. Pallets and Crates being transferred to Woolworths Australia is an example of different effective dates - the pallets are delayed but crates are a same-day transfer. 2d barcodes are updated to scan separate effective dates as well. Dockets printed from 2ic Web Pallets have also improved and the 2d barcodes on these dockets can be scanned into 2ic Pallets.

8. Docket reports: The labels on 'triple dockets' may now be customised. The left, middle & right copies may be changed from "Sender", "Other" & "Receiver" in the Movements Customise form. Thanks to Carolyn McPherson @ Harris Refrigerated and Belinda Field @ Star Track Express for this suggestion.

9. Import Data form: Various new import templates added and existing ones modified:

  • "2ic Web Pallets slave movements file, version 1.21" - set up for importing.
  • "2ic Web Pallets 3rd Party movements file, version 1.00" - set up for importing.
  • "CHEP Movement Analysis Report" - set up for importing.
  • "Loscam Customer Transactions Listing" - set up for importing.
  • "CHEPMate STAR bill file" - modified so REF1 imports to the Con Note field and Date Received set up for importing.
  • "Loscam mark-off bill file" - modified so 'Receiving Authorisation' imports to the Con Note field.

See the forum post here for more information on the Reference and Con Note fields, and where they appear on various pallet company invoices.

10. Export Data form: Various export formats added and updated.

  • LINPAC - new export format added, specifically for Marks & Spencer trays.
  • CHEP New Zealand exports - switched from the old fixed-width file format to the new CSV format.
  • CHEP Australia export - modified to include the Date Received, Date/Time Created and Con Note (into CHEP's REF1 field).
  • CHEP Asia - Con Note included in the export to match up with imports.
  • Loscam - Con Note included in the export to match up with imports.

11. Trading Partners form: Separate field for Rej/Corr Email added. Previously rej/corr emails were sent to the regular trading partner email address, but now this may be used for the equipment orders email address, for example.

12. Trading Partners form: Default setting added to the Customise form for the Notify checkbox. Thanks to Steve Eldridge @ QR National for this suggestion.

13. Equipment form: Default fee fields for transfers and exchanges have been removed from this form. Default fees remain in the Profiles form, and this removes the confusion as to which are used when keying movements.

14. Archives form: Incomplete movements are prevented from being archived. A full list of pre-archiving checks is in the forum post here. Thanks to Belinda Field @ Star Track Express for this suggestion.

Version 2.81e, released 26-Jul-2010

18. Docket Book report: A new dedicated form for docket book reports has been added to the Reports tab of the Main form. The major new feature is the option for multi-line docket book dockets, e.g. "CHEP pallets" and "Loscam pallets" may be specified on the docket. When completing the docket, only use the necessary equipment line(s). Corresponding movements may be created for each line, but it may be more efficient to only create one line, e.g. for "CHEP pallets", then change this line if the completed docket is for different equipment or use Control+m to create additional lines if it is completed as a multi-line docket. Thanks to John Stuart @ PLP and Kathy Brennan @ Ron Finemore Transport for this suggestion.

19. Docket reports: Delivery Date (Date Received) is not displayed on docket reports in place of Movement Time. Thanks to John Stuart @ PLP for this suggestion.

20. Imported Movements form: The 'Tag All' button now has its control tip set to the filter settings when it was last clicked, i.e. hovering the mouse over the Tag All button explains what records are tagged.

21. Movements & Imported Movements forms: A traced movement can now be automatically untraced by setting its quantity to zero. It continues to offer unredeeming redeemed movements when the quantity is set to zero, but now it offers to do both. This feature allows traced and redeemed movements to be deleted in the existing movements grid of the Imported Movements form - previously they had to be untraced and/or unredeemed in the Movements form before deleting. Thanks to Aka Fualau & Judy Fawdray @ Toll Tranzlink for this suggestion.

22. Movements & Imported Movements forms: The Con Note drop-down list now includes a column for Untraced Quantity. This provides more information on the opposite record when using con note tracing.

23. Movements form: A new shortcut Control+n for creating a new movement based on the last added/updated movement is now available. It works in the same way as Control+m for creating multi-line movements, but instead of creating same details for different equipment, Control+n creates a movement with the same equipment but without reference fields Con Note, Reference and Docket Number. Thanks to Belinda Collins @ DHL for this suggestion.

24. Movements, Bills, TP Accounts & Profiles forms: 'Single Record View' checkboxes are replaced with Grid/Single toggle buttons.

25. Import Data form: When saving records and updating docket numbers of existing movements (i.e. for CHEP New Zealand imports), include cross-matching of Reference to Con Note and vice versa when identifying matching records. Thanks to Aka Fualau & Judy Fawdray @ Toll Tranzlink for this suggestion.

26. General: India added as a recognised 'CHEP' country, i.e. file formats, email addresses, etc. are configured automatically for new data files with India as the selected country. Thanks to Bruce Abdul-Rauf & Brett Rennick @ CHEP for their assistance.

27. Export Data form: CHEP New Zealand export format updated from CHEP's CDKTF version 1.0 format to version 1.1. Thanks to Bruce Abdul-Rauf @ CHEP for assistance.

28. Export Data form: Loscam batch filenames now have the full batch number as the file extension rather than truncating it to the last 3 digits, i.e. batch 1038 file is called XXXXXX.1038 rather than XXXXXX.038. Thanks to Paul Cataldo & Michael Gorman @ Loscam, and Vicky Nardo @ SSPA for their assistance.

29. Export Data form: CEVA exporting details updated, specifically setting the email address for export files to to eft.paltrak@cevalogistics.com. Thanks to Tim Le @ CEVA Logistics for assistance.

30. General: Updated licence agreement.

Version 2.81f, released 5-Aug-2010

31. Import Data form: For slave movement imports, the equipment is now set automatically when there is only one active equipment item in the data file and no column for equipment in the import file.

32. Import Data form: Enable importing slave movement files that only have a Date Received column and no columns for Date or Effective Date. Thanks to Rebecca Thomas @ Inline Pallets for this suggestion.

33. Run Sheet report: When the new record is selected in the Movements form, enable printing run sheets for the most recent date that has suitable movements (which may be tomorrow). Previously it would only print run sheets for 'today'.

Version 2.81g, released 12-Aug-2010

34. Archives form: Various improvements to the 'Backup & Delete' archiving, including automatic reconciliation of the new 'initial bill' records, i.e. the earliest bill retained in the data file for each equipment item.

35. Import Data form: For trading partner imports, it offers to discard account records for suppliers that are not in the data file. This allows, for example, importing only CHEP accounts from a file that contains accounts for multiple suppliers. This is especially helpful when master data files are split into separate files for each pallet company and the slave data files contain records for all pallet companies in the one file. Thanks to Belinda Field @ Star Track Express for this suggestion.

Version 2.81h, released 26-Aug-2010

36. Setup Wizard form: Generating an email request to CEVA Logistics (Australia) is now available for setting up EDI. The email requests a filename prefix for export files, FTP login details for submitting export files and the commencement of sending electronic invoices for importing into 2ic Pallets. Thanks to Tim Le @ CEVA Logistics for assistance.

37. Rejections & Corrections: Slight format change to the rej/corr emails sent to all pallet companies. For Loscam specifically, it no longer requests docket numbers for the new record(s) to have suffixes "-1V", "-2C", etc., it now requests "C1", "C2", etc. to be added to the existing docket number instead, which is in line with the current practices of Loscam. Emails to CEVA also no longer request the "-1V", "-2C", etc. suffix.

38. Import Data form: Improved importing of Loscam Online files, specifically with regard to identifying rej/rev/corr records. It uses the C1/C2 suffix on docket numbers to distinguish correction records from original movements. Thanks to Corey White @ ICD Transport for this suggestion.

39. Movements form: Slight increase in the speed of keying movements after streamlining the checks and display changes as records are keyed.

40. Movements form: When completing a movement by entering returned (received) equipment it will automatically convert transfers to exchanges when the quantity becomes zero, i.e. if Sent = Received. Thanks to Belinda Field @ Star Track Express for this suggestion.

41. Export Data form: Fixed a problem with Loscam exports when the batch number is 1000 or higher. Thanks to Trudy Baird @ Woolworths and Paul Cataldo @ Loscam for assistance.

Version 2.81j, released 28-Sep-2010

42. Import Data form: Improved importing of CEVA Logistics bill files, mainly relating to better identification of rejections & corrections. These improvements coincide with some changes to the  files by CEVA. Previous file formats are still supported to allow re-importing of old bill files. Thanks to Tim Le @ CEVA Logistics and Nicole Blake @ Manildra for assistance.

43. Export Data form: For CHEP Australia exports, the 'Dispatch Date' in the export file is set to the Date Received when the 3rd Party has delay profile "Set number of days from the date received". This is a work-around because all EDO transactions are based on the dispatch date. When importing, leaving date matching to the default settings of +/-3 days will cover in transit days and allow records to match. Thanks to Bruce Abdul-Rauf@ CHEP and John Smyth @ Lindsay Transport for assistance.

44. Export Data & Import Data forms: A slight modification to the format of 3rd Party movement files and another modification to processing them when importing improves the handling of 'settlement transfers'. These are customer-to-customer transfers that settle an exchange balance without a corresponding physical movement of equipment. Thanks to Kathy Brennan @ Ron Finemore Transport and Natasha Robertson @ Woolworths for this suggestion.

45. Imported Movements form: Slave Reference added as a new filter option.

Version 2.81k, released 28-Oct-2010

46. Movements & Import Data forms: Date Received is set automatically for location-to-location movements where the receiving trading partner is the nominated location of the data file (in the Main Customise form) or the location of the currently logged in user. It is also set automatically when scanning docket barcodes, copying the 'barcode' text from email notifications into the Movements form, and when importing slave movement files. Thanks to Narsha Pakura @ NQX for this suggestion.

47. Rejections/Corrections: The email address for sending rej/corr notifications to CHEP New Zealand is changed from nz.corrections@chep.com to nz.customerservice@chep.com. Thanks to Pania Roberts @ CHEP for assistance.

Version 2.81m, released 5-Nov-2010

48. Import Data & Imported Movements forms: A new import code "REJ" and corresponding import checks have been introduced. When importing slave movements, if there is an exact matching existing movement that has been rejected, the import record is converted to a 'Reinstatement' and sent to the Imported Movements with the “REJ” code. Thanks to David Hitchener @ QRX for this suggestion.

49. Match Options form: An option to use the imported movement to 'Correct' the existing movement has been introduced. This option is used when importing a slave movement that has been changed in the slave, but not before it has been exported to the supplier from the master data file. The layout of the Match Options form has also changed, with the 'Notify & Retain' option always visible rather than only visible when matching exchanges. Thanks to Andrew Ritchie @ Freshmax for this suggestion.

50. TP Stock Levels report: Exporting to a CSV text file is now an option instead of opening a formatted report. This allows master-slave systems to use Excel to easily compare 3rd Party exchange balances in the master and slave files, rather than comparing printed reports. Thanks to Fady Issak @ NQX for this suggestion.

51. TP History report: Exporting to a CSV text file is now an option instead of opening a formatted report. The text file format is the standard '3rd Party movements' format, allowing it to be imported by the other trading partner or imported into the master data file in a master-slave system. The latter allows easy identification of non-matching movements between the master and slave data files. Fixing the problem records ensures 3rd Party exchange balances are synchronised in the two data files. Thanks to Fady Issak @ NQX for this suggestion.

52. Run Sheet report: Equipment totals for each 'run sheet route' have been added to streamline checking the number of pallets on delivery trucks. Thanks to Belinda Collins & Ashley Lockett @ DHL for this suggestion.

Version 2.81p, released 11-Nov-2010

53. Movements form: The scanning of 2d barcodes has been made more robust for server installations of 2ic Pallets. There appears to be an issue with Citrix as it randomly substitutes characters in the scan text with the other character on the same keyboard key. For example lower case alpha characters may be sent to the server instead the corresponding upper case letters. Likewise "," may be replaced by "<", i.e. equivalent to holding down Shift and pressing the comma key. This also happens when scanning into a Word document, for example, so it is not an issue with 2ic Pallets. However 2ic Pallets now processes scans correctly even when they contain these incorrect characters. Thanks to Bruce Whittle @ Comware for assistance with this issue.

Version 2.81q, released 23-Nov-2010

54. Location Summary report: Exporting to a CSV text file is now an option instead of opening a formatted report. This enables further analysis of this key financial report in Excel, which is useful for master-slave and other multi-location systems. Thanks to Damian Colclough @ QR National for this suggestion.

55. Flow Through report: Exporting to a CSV text file is now an option instead of opening a formatted report. This allows further analysis in Excel, which is useful for master-slave and other multi-location systems. Thanks to Damian Colclough @ QR National for this suggestion.

56. Imported Movements form: Double-clicking on the Copy Requested checkbox (in any record) offers to tick it for all currently displayed imported movements. If Copy Requested is already ticked for the current record, double-clicking offers to untick all displayed records. Thanks to Kathy Crooks @ NQX for this suggestion.

57. Imported Movements form: When requesting copies in bulk, i.e. clicking Request Copy while the current record has Copy Requested already ticked, it now allows sending requests for non-Normal movements. This change is made with master-slave systems in mind, where it is common to request confirmation of rej/corr records from the slave locations. When both the other trading partner and linked locations are nominated to receive requests, it offers to send the rej/corr requests to only the linked locations. Thanks to Kathy Crooks @ NQX for this suggestion.

58. Loaned Equipment report: The report has been generalised from only displaying rent to displaying rent and/or fees. This makes the report useful for deposit/refund systems. Also provided is an option to override the regular rental unit price and an option to print each transaction list on a separate page. The 'one per page' option also removes page numbers and some header information to produce transaction lists that are suitable for attaching to invoices to exchange customers. Thanks to Rebecca Thomas @ Adelaide Produce Markets for this suggestion.

59. Untraced Movements & Unredeemed Movements reports: A new option added to display movement notes in these reports. Thanks to Veronica Ziola @ Linfox for this suggestion.

Version 2.81r, released 26-Nov-2010

60. Loaned Equipment report: Two new options added for this report; one to display notes for movement records and another to calculate an extra day of rent for exchange 'on' movements, i.e. charge for the day of the movement the same as rent is charged for transfer on movements on supplier bills. Thanks to Rebecca Thomas @ Adelaide Produce Markets for this suggestion.

61. Reconcilation report: A new option added for displaying movement notes in the detailed version of this report. Thanks to Veronica Ziola @ Linfox for this suggestion.
